RecallPaws

RecallPaws is a mobile app (with an optional web dashboard) that monitors pet food, treats, and supplements for recalls and safety alerts based on the exact products you buy. Users scan barcodes or upload receipts, then the app matches UPCs/lot codes to official recall sources (FDA, USDA, manufacturer notices) and sends push alerts when a product in your home is affected. It also flags high-risk patterns like repeated GI issues tied to a specific batch, and provides plain-language guidance on what to do next: stop feeding, symptoms to watch, and how to report an incident. This is a traditional app with light AI: AI is used to extract product/lot data from receipts and photos, not to “diagnose” pets. The goal is simple: reduce the time between a recall announcement and a pet owner actually acting on it.
