RecallRadar

RecallRadar is a mobile + web app that helps people avoid buying recalled, unsafe, or warranty-void electronics—especially in the used market. You scan a barcode/serial number (or type model info), and the app cross-checks official recall databases, manufacturer advisories, and known defect bulletins. It then shows a clear risk summary: confirmed recall, safety advisory, common failure pattern, or no known issues—plus what to do next (refund steps, manufacturer fix programs, and links to official sources). The app also stores your purchases and sends alerts if a recall is issued later. This is not glamorous, but it’s practical: used marketplaces are huge, and most buyers don’t check recalls at all. Monetization is straightforward: a low-cost subscription for power users and a B2B tier for refurbishers/resellers who need bulk checks and audit logs.
