RecallRadar is a mobile app (with an optional web dashboard) that monitors your grocery purchases and alerts you when a product you bought is recalled or flagged for safety issues. Users can scan receipts, forward e-receipts, or connect select retailer email accounts to build a private purchase history. The app matches items against official recall feeds (FDA, USDA, CPSC) and retailer recall notices, then sends clear, actionable guidance: affected lot/date codes, what to do, refund steps, and whether it’s a “stop using immediately” situation. It also supports household profiles so parents, caregivers, or roommates can see relevant alerts without sharing full email access. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used to extract line items from messy receipts and normalize product names/brands to improve matching accuracy. It’s realistic, narrow, and valuable—if accuracy is high.
