RecallReady is a mobile + web app that helps people quickly check whether their kitchen appliances are affected by safety recalls, warranty issues, or known defect bulletins. Users scan a barcode/QR code, take a photo of the model/serial label, or manually enter the model number. The app matches it against official recall databases (e.g., CPSC in the US) and manufacturer notices, then shows clear next steps: stop-use guidance, refund/repair links, and required documentation. It also stores a “kitchen inventory” with purchase date, retailer, and warranty status, and sends alerts if a saved appliance becomes newly recalled. This is not glamorous, but it’s practical: most people don’t track model numbers, and recall notices rarely reach the right person. The app focuses on accuracy, speed, and actionable instructions rather than generic appliance tips.
