RecallRunner

RecallRunner is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) that monitors safety recalls and defect notices for sports wearables and gear you actually own—heart-rate straps, smartwatches, bike computers, helmets with sensors, charging docks, and batteries. Users scan barcodes/QR codes or import purchase emails to build a gear inventory, then get targeted alerts when a matching model, batch, or firmware version is recalled or flagged for overheating, skin irritation, strap failures, or inaccurate readings. The app also tracks warranty windows, provides one-tap links to manufacturer recall pages, and generates a simple “proof of ownership” packet (receipt + serial + photos) to speed up claims. This is a traditional app with a small AI component that extracts model/serial data from photos and emails. It’s not glamorous, but it reduces real injury and hassle while saving time during returns and replacements.
