ReceiptCarbon is a mobile + web AI app that estimates a personal carbon footprint from what people actually buy, not what they claim in surveys. Users forward email receipts (Amazon, Instacart, airline confirmations) and scan paper receipts; the app categorizes items, assigns emissions factors, and shows a weekly “carbon spend” dashboard with the top drivers (food, flights, deliveries, returns). It also flags high-impact swaps that are realistic (e.g., fewer returns, slower shipping, switching a few staple foods) and tracks progress over time. The honest angle: the numbers won’t be perfect—merchant line items are messy and emissions factors vary—but it will be far more grounded than self-reported lifestyle calculators. Monetization is a subscription plus optional employer wellness/ESG bundles. The MVP focuses on a small set of merchants and categories where parsing is reliable and value is immediate.
