ReceiptLock is a mobile + web AI app that reduces return and refund fraud by issuing tamper-evident, verifiable digital receipts tied to a specific transaction, cashier, and (optionally) customer identity. At checkout, the POS triggers a receipt token (QR/NFC) that customers can store in Apple Wallet/Google Wallet or retrieve via phone number/email. When a return happens, associates scan the token and the app verifies it against the original basket, timestamp, store, and payment fingerprint, flagging mismatches (edited screenshots, reused receipts, cross-store abuse). It also scores risk for no-receipt returns and suggests policy-compliant actions (manager approval, store credit, ID capture) without slowing lines. This is not magic: it won’t stop organized retail crime alone, but it can measurably cut the most common “paper receipt + policy loophole” losses and speed up legitimate returns.
