ReceiptTutor
ReceiptTutor is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that turns everyday spending into short, practical financial literacy lessons. Users scan receipts or forward email receipts; the app categorizes purchases, flags recurring “silent” costs (fees, subscriptions, delivery premiums), and generates weekly micro-lessons tied directly to what happened in their real life. Instead of generic budgeting advice, it explains concepts like unit pricing, opportunity cost, interest vs. fees, and subscription creep using the user’s own transactions. It also offers simple “next best action” nudges (cancel, downgrade, switch store, set a cap) and a progress score based on behavior changes, not just knowledge quizzes. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI extracts line items, detects patterns, and writes personalized lessons, while the core budgeting logic remains deterministic and auditable. Monetization: freemium with a paid tier for advanced insights and family sharing.
