RedactRail

RedactRail is a web app (with optional desktop agent) that sits in front of your existing ECM (SharePoint, Box, Google Drive, file shares) and enforces “safe-to-share” content rules. It scans documents on upload or before external sharing, detects PII/PHI/PCI and confidential terms, and automatically redacts or blocks based on policy. It generates an auditable report showing what was found, what was redacted, and who attempted to share it. The product is intentionally narrow: it doesn’t try to replace your ECM, search, or DLP suite; it focuses on the last-mile failure point—people emailing, exporting, or sharing the wrong file. Admins get policy templates by regulation (HIPAA, GDPR, PCI) plus custom dictionaries and allowlists. Legal/compliance can approve exceptions with a workflow, reducing business friction while still preventing accidental leaks.
