ReefPulse

ReefPulse is a mobile + web AI app that helps dive shops, citizen scientists, and small NGOs document coral reef condition using the photos they already take. Users upload dive photos (or sync from a GoPro folder), and the app auto-sorts by site/date, estimates coral cover vs. algae, flags bleaching likelihood, and generates a simple “site snapshot” report with confidence scores. It also guides users to retake better monitoring shots (distance, angle, lighting) so the data is actually usable. The app focuses on repeatable monitoring for the same reef spots over time rather than trying to be a global scientific platform. Exports include a shareable PDF for sponsors and a CSV for researchers. Brutal reality: accuracy won’t match trained survey teams, so the product wins by being cheap, fast, and consistent enough for trend tracking and fundraising proof.
