ReefReceipt

ReefReceipt is a mobile + web app that lets seafood buyers verify sustainability claims with evidence, not marketing. Restaurants, fishmongers, and small distributors create a “receipt” for each batch: species, catch/harvest method, gear type, location grid, date, and supplier chain. The app pulls risk signals (IUU risk, protected-area overlap, seasonal closures, species vulnerability) and generates a simple traffic-light score plus a shareable QR code for menus and invoices. It’s not magic: if suppliers won’t share data, the score stays “unverified,” which is the point—forcing transparency. Buyers can set procurement rules (e.g., no trawl-caught shrimp, no high-risk regions) and get alerts when a batch violates policy. Consumers can scan QR codes to see the same proof trail, reducing greenwashing and rewarding better suppliers.
