ReefSentry

ReefSentry is a web + mobile AI-assisted monitoring app that helps reef managers and researchers detect bleaching risk and local stressors earlier using a mix of satellite data, in-water sensor feeds, and structured field observations. Users set up “sites” (reefs, nurseries, MPAs), connect available data sources (NOAA Coral Reef Watch, Sentinel-2 imagery, optional IoT loggers), and log quick surveys (temperature, turbidity, disease signs, crown-of-thorns sightings). The app produces a simple risk dashboard, anomaly alerts, and weekly site briefs that translate complex signals into actionable thresholds (e.g., deploy shade cloth, adjust nursery depth, increase patrols, schedule dive surveys). It’s realistic: it won’t “save reefs,” but it can reduce wasted field time, improve documentation for grants, and help teams respond faster with limited budgets and staff.
