ReelRights

ReelRights is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that helps indie filmmakers and small agencies clear music rights without drowning in emails, spreadsheets, and legal confusion. You upload your cut (or just a cue sheet), mark where music is used, and the app generates a rights checklist, outreach templates, and a trackable clearance workflow. It includes a searchable catalog of pre-cleared indie tracks from participating artists/labels plus a “request clearance” pipeline for any song, with status tracking, reminders, and stored agreements. It’s not magic: many rights holders won’t respond, and big catalogs can be expensive. But for the long tail—festival films, YouTube releases, branded content, student projects—this replaces chaotic manual process with a repeatable system, reducing the risk of takedowns, festival disqualification, or last-minute music swaps.
