ReelRights

ReelRights is a web + mobile app that helps short filmmakers legally use music without spending weeks emailing labels or risking takedowns. Creators upload a rough cut (or just the timecodes), pick the music they want, and the app routes them to the correct rights path: pre-cleared micro-licenses, indie artist direct licenses, or “not feasible” warnings when the rights are too complex. It generates a plain-English deal summary, collects signatures, and stores proof-of-license packets that platforms and festivals can verify via a shareable link. It also includes a budget-aware music finder that prioritizes tracks with fast clearance and transparent terms. This is not glamorous, but it removes a real bottleneck that blocks distribution and monetization for shorts, especially on YouTube, TikTok, and festival screeners.
