RefillRoute

RefillRoute is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard for partners) that helps people find and actually use nearby refill options for personal care and beauty products—shampoo, soap, deodorant, lotion, and cleaning basics. Users scan a product barcode or search by item, then the app shows the closest refill stations, real-time availability (when provided), estimated cost per ounce/ml, container requirements, and the fastest route to complete a “refill run.” It also tracks your containers (what size you own, what’s running low) and nudges you when it’s worth refilling versus buying new. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used to normalize messy product/refill catalogs, estimate equivalencies (e.g., “this refill matches your 12oz bottle”), and predict when you’ll run out based on purchase/refill history. It’s realistic: the hardest part is data and partner adoption, not the UI.
