RefLint

RefLint is a web app with an optional Word/Google Docs add-on that audits manuscripts for citation and reference-list problems before submission. It flags missing DOIs, broken URLs, inconsistent author initials, mismatched in-text citations vs bibliography, duplicate entries, and style violations (APA/MLA/Chicago/Vancouver and common journal variants). Users upload a DOCX/PDF or connect a Docs file; RefLint produces a clean, actionable report and one-click fixes via exported BibTeX/RIS/CSL-JSON or a patched reference list. It also checks “citation hygiene” issues that waste reviewer time: uncited references, over-citation clusters, and outdated links. This is an AI + traditional rules engine: deterministic parsing for reliability, plus AI to infer likely missing fields and suggest the most probable DOI match with confidence scores. It’s built for teams: shared projects, change history, and submission-ready checklists.
