RefReady

RefReady is a mobile + web app that helps amateur leagues and pickup organizers book verified referees/umpires on short notice. Most games don’t get canceled because players don’t show up—they get messy because nobody wants to officiate, rules are argued, or the scheduled ref flakes. RefReady offers a lightweight marketplace: organizers post game details (sport, location, time, pay), refs accept, and payment is held in escrow until check-in. Refs build reputations with punctuality and fairness ratings, while organizers get reliability scores and no-show protection. The MVP focuses on a few sports in one metro area to avoid the “empty marketplace” problem. This is not glamorous, but it solves a real operational headache that ruins recreational competition and wastes field time.
