RefRights

RefRights is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps illustrators source reference photos they can actually use commercially. Users search a curated library of model/prop/location packs with clear, standardized licenses, or request a custom shoot from vetted photographers. Every asset includes a simple “allowed uses” summary, attribution requirements, and a downloadable proof-of-license certificate you can attach to client deliveries. The app also lets artists upload their own reference and run a rights checklist (model release present, property release needed, brand logos visible, etc.) to flag risk before publishing. This is not glamorous, but it targets a real, recurring problem: artists lose time, money, or gigs when reference usage is unclear. Monetization: subscription for downloads + per-pack purchases + marketplace take rate on custom shoots.
