RefundFence

RefundFence is a web app (with optional mobile dashboard) that helps mid-market e-commerce brands detect and prevent refund/return abuse and “friendly fraud” patterns that slip past payment processors. It plugs into Shopify, Stripe, PayPal, and major helpdesk tools to correlate signals across orders, customer support tickets, shipping scans, device fingerprints, and refund history. The app scores each refund request in real time, flags high-risk cases, and recommends a next action: require photo evidence, request return shipment first, partial refund, or deny with templated policy language. It also tracks repeat abusers across accounts (same device/address/behavior) and produces an audit trail for disputes and internal compliance. This is a combination traditional + AI app: rules and thresholds for reliability, plus lightweight ML for anomaly detection and text analysis of support messages. It’s not magic—expect false positives early and ongoing tuning.
