RefurbReceipt

RefurbReceipt is a mobile + web app that standardizes “refurbished” into something buyers can trust. It scans listings (or receipts) and generates a simple, comparable “Refurb Receipt” card: likely refurb source (manufacturer vs third-party), warranty reality, return friction score, parts replaced probability, and common failure risks for that model. It also flags sketchy signals: mismatched serial formats, vague condition language, missing battery health, and sellers with inconsistent policies. The app isn’t magic—it won’t verify what sellers hide—but it makes the hidden costs visible and helps users avoid the worst deals. Monetization is straightforward: affiliate revenue from reputable refurb outlets, plus a small subscription for power buyers (price alerts, bulk comparisons, and extended policy tracking). The product lives or dies on data quality and clear disclaimers, not hype.
