RegolithLab
RegolithLab is a web app (with optional desktop companion) for planetary science students and researchers who need quick, reproducible surface analysis without building a full GIS pipeline. It pulls public mission datasets (e.g., Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter CTX/HiRISE footprints, MOLA/HRSC DEMs, lunar LRO products) and lets users generate study-ready outputs: slope/aspect maps, roughness proxies, boulder counts via semi-automated labeling, and standardized region-of-interest reports with citations. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for deterministic geoprocessing and provenance, AI for assisted feature detection and quality checks. The honest pitch: it won’t replace ArcGIS/QGIS for power users, but it can save hours for common tasks and reduce “I can’t reproduce your map” problems by exporting a complete workflow log and shareable project links.
