The app pulls current rental comps, typical deposits/fees, utilities, transit/parking, taxes, and moving costs, then produces a “true take-home” comparison versus your current city. It also generates a relocation checklist tied to your timeline (lease notice, movers, insurance, DMV, childcare waitlists) and flags common gotchas like non-reimbursable expenses or stipend taxability. It’s not a magic negotiator: it won’t guarantee savings or perfect data. But it will prevent candidates from accepting offers that quietly reduce their quality of life or cash flow, and it arms them with numbers for negotiation.
