RemitShield is a mobile + web AI-assisted “pre-flight check” for remittances that helps migrants avoid sending money to the wrong person, the wrong corridor, or a scammer. Users paste a WhatsApp message, upload a screenshot, or enter recipient details and amount. The app flags common scam patterns (fake emergencies, romance scams, impersonation), verifies recipient identity where possible (name/phone consistency checks, optional selfie/ID request link), and compares real-time fees and FX across major providers for the chosen corridor. It also generates a simple, shareable confirmation flow: the recipient must confirm last-4 digits, expected amount, and pickup method before the sender proceeds. This doesn’t replace a remittance provider; it sits upstream as a safety and cost-optimization layer. Monetization is referral revenue from providers plus a small subscription for advanced protection and family accounts.
