RemoteRef

RemoteRef is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that helps job seekers quickly validate whether a “remote” posting is legitimate, truly remote, and worth applying to. It aggregates signals from multiple sources—company hiring history, employee location patterns, offer/contract red flags, domain/email authenticity, and community reports—to generate a clear “Remote Reality Score” and a short explanation of what looks good and what looks risky. Users can paste a job URL or upload a PDF, then get an instant checklist: time zone constraints, hidden hybrid language, pay range plausibility, likely staffing agency reposts, and scam indicators. It also tracks your applications and flags when the same role is reposted suspiciously or when a company’s remote policy appears to have changed. The goal is not more job listings; it’s fewer wasted hours and fewer scams.
