RentFit is a web + mobile app for affordable-housing landlords and small property managers to pre-screen applicants fast and fairly before scheduling tours. Applicants answer a short, structured questionnaire (income sources, household size, voucher status, move-in timeline, required accessibility features) and upload minimal documents. The app then outputs a “fit summary” against the unit’s published criteria (AMI band, max occupancy, required documents, pet rules, accessibility) and flags missing items—without making approval decisions. It also generates a standardized, audit-friendly communication log and templated next steps so managers don’t accidentally violate fair housing rules. This is not a magic waitlist solver; it’s a workflow tool that reduces no-shows, incomplete applications, and back-and-forth. It’s realistic because it targets the messy middle: small operators who can’t afford enterprise property management suites but still face compliance risk and high applicant volume.
