RescueRoster

RescueRoster is a mobile + web app that helps small food businesses (bakeries, cafes, delis, small grocers) sell or donate near-expiry items in predictable, scheduled “rescue windows” instead of ad-hoc last-minute posts. Merchants set recurring pickup slots (e.g., 7:30–8:00pm daily) and list standardized bundles (bread bag, mixed pastries, produce box) in two taps. Customers subscribe to alerts for specific windows and reserve quickly; nonprofits can claim donation lots with simple eligibility verification. The app focuses on operational reliability: inventory templates, auto-pricing rules (e.g., 60% off after 6pm), and a “no-show protection” system using deposits or penalties. It also generates a simple monthly waste and savings report merchants can use for sustainability reporting without complex integrations. This is realistic because it avoids full POS integration at MVP and leans on repeatable routines.
