RetireGauge is a web + mobile app (traditional app with light AI) that helps people calculate a realistic “retirement number” and, more importantly, understand how fragile it is. Users connect accounts (or enter manually), set goals (retire age, lifestyle spend, location), and the app runs scenario tests: inflation spikes, market crashes, healthcare costs, Social Security changes, part-time work, and sequence-of-returns risk. It outputs a simple dashboard: probability of success, required monthly savings, and the top 3 levers that move the needle. The AI layer translates results into plain-English next steps and flags inconsistent inputs (e.g., underestimating taxes or healthcare). This is not a robo-advisor; it’s a decision tool with clear assumptions, exportable reports, and reminders to revisit the plan quarterly. Brutal honesty: it will often tell users they’re not on track—and show exactly why.
