RetroFitBid

RetroFitBid is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that helps small and mid-sized building owners choose cost-effective sustainability retrofits without getting lost in vendor marketing. Users enter basic building details (size, age, heating type, utility bills) and select goals (lower bills, emissions cuts, compliance). The app generates a prioritized retrofit shortlist (insulation, heat pumps, controls, LEDs, solar, demand response) with ballpark costs, payback ranges, disruption level, and local incentive eligibility. It then runs a simple, standardized RFP process: owners invite vetted contractors, compare apples-to-apples bids, and track project milestones and documentation for rebates. It’s not magic—estimates are ranges and depend on contractor surveys—but it reduces decision paralysis and prevents obvious bad purchases. Revenue comes from subscription plus a fee per completed project or contractor leads (kept transparent).
