RetrofitBid is a web + mobile app (traditional + AI) that helps homeowners and small landlords plan and buy sustainability retrofits without getting ripped off by confusing quotes. Users enter basic home details, upload photos, utility bills, and any contractor proposals. The app normalizes bids into a standard scope (equipment specs, warranties, labor, permits, rebates) and estimates realistic energy savings ranges using local climate and utility rates. It flags red-flag items (undersized heat pumps, missing permit costs, junk brands, vague line items) and suggests questions to ask contractors. It also tracks rebates and required paperwork deadlines so users don’t leave money on the table. The goal is not “perfect modeling”—it’s reducing decision paralysis and preventing bad purchases with clear comparisons and a simple next-step checklist.
