RetroFitIQ

RetroFitIQ helps homeowners decide which energy-efficiency upgrades are worth doing next—based on their specific house, climate, and utility rates. You enter a few basics (year built, square footage, insulation level, HVAC type) and optionally upload recent utility bills. The app produces a ranked list of retrofit actions (air sealing, attic insulation, heat pump, smart thermostat, window fixes) with realistic savings ranges, payback time, comfort impact, and disruption level. It also flags “noisy” upgrades that are commonly oversold (e.g., full window replacement) unless your data supports it. The MVP avoids fancy hardware integrations and focuses on credible estimates, clear assumptions, and local rebates pulled from public databases. It can generate a simple checklist you can hand to contractors, plus a before/after tracking view to see if the savings actually show up on bills.
