RetrofitRadar

RetrofitRadar helps homeowners and small landlords decide which sustainability retrofits are worth doing now, and which are a waste of money. Users enter a few basics (address, home type/age, heating fuel, insulation status, utility costs), and the app pulls local climate data, typical retrofit performance ranges, and available incentives to generate a ranked action list (air sealing, attic insulation, heat pump, heat pump water heater, windows, solar, etc.). It outputs realistic payback ranges, comfort impact, carbon reduction, and disruption level, plus a “do this first” dependency map (e.g., air sealing before heat pump sizing). It also produces a contractor-ready scope summary and a simple measurement checklist to verify outcomes after installation. This is not a magic savings promise tool; it’s a decision and planning app that reduces expensive sequencing mistakes and incentive confusion.
