RetroMeter

RetroMeter is a web + mobile app that helps small and mid-sized building operators (and tenants) understand whether energy-saving changes actually worked. Users upload utility bills (PDF/CSV) or connect their utility account where available, then tag “events” like HVAC tune-ups, LED retrofits, thermostat policy changes, or occupancy shifts. The app normalizes usage for weather (heating/cooling degree days) and flags when savings claims are likely noise versus real signal. It generates simple before/after reports, a monthly “drift” alert when consumption creeps back up, and a lightweight feedback loop for vendors: what was done, what changed, and what to check next. It’s not a full-blown BMS replacement; it’s a pragmatic measurement-and-verification layer for buildings that will never buy enterprise energy software.
