RetroQuake

RetroQuake is a web + mobile app that helps homeowners, landlords, and small businesses understand earthquake exposure using what already happened nearby. Instead of vague hazard maps, it summarizes historical shaking intensity at your exact address (from public seismic catalogs and ShakeMap-style datasets), then translates that into a plain-language “likely damage modes” checklist (unreinforced masonry, soft-story, chimney, contents) and a prioritized retrofit/mitigation plan. You can upload a few photos and basic building details to refine the risk score and generate an insurer/contractor-ready PDF report. It’s not a prediction app; it’s a decision app for budgeting, retrofits, and emergency prep. The product lives or dies on trust: every claim links back to a cited dataset and clear uncertainty ranges. Monetization is report fees and a small subscription for property managers with multiple addresses.
