ReturnPilot is a web app (with optional Shopify/BigCommerce plugin) that helps e-commerce brands reduce return costs and fraud while keeping the experience customer-friendly. It scores each return request using order history, item attributes, delivery signals, and behavior patterns, then recommends the cheapest acceptable resolution: keep-item refund, exchange-only, store credit, partial refund, or require photo proof. It also automates return routing by geography and item condition to minimize shipping and restocking costs, and flags repeat abusers without blanket policies that punish good customers. Merchants get a dashboard showing return reasons, SKU-level return hotspots, and policy experiments (e.g., tightening rules only for high-risk segments). This is a combination traditional + AI app: rules-based controls for compliance and predictable outcomes, plus ML scoring to adapt to new fraud patterns and product issues.
