RibbitRadar

RibbitRadar is a mobile + web app that helps people locate and log frog and toad calling activity in real time. Users open a map, see nearby “call hotspots” based on recent community reports and optional passive audio sampling, then follow a simple checklist to confirm habitat type, weather, and approximate call intensity. The app guides users to record a 10–20 second clip, auto-suggests likely species for that region/season, and prompts for a confidence rating rather than pretending it’s always correct. Submissions feed a public heatmap and a private dashboard for land managers and educators. It’s designed for practical field use: offline mode, quick-entry logging, and clear safety/ethics prompts (no trespassing, no handling). The goal is not perfect identification—it’s reliable, structured presence data that’s actually usable.
