RideSplit

RideSplit is a mobile app (with a lightweight web dashboard) for tracking shared transportation costs among friends, couples, roommates, and small teams. It automatically detects trips via location, lets users label them (Uber/Lyft, gas, tolls, parking, transit), and assigns who was in the car with one tap. The app keeps a running balance per group and generates clean settlement options (e.g., “Alex pays Sam $18.40”) without forcing everyone onto the same bank. Receipts can be scanned, and recurring commutes can be templated. It’s not trying to be a full budgeting app; it’s narrowly focused on the messy “who owes what for rides” problem that people currently solve with notes, Venmo comments, or spreadsheets. Expect some manual correction—location data isn’t perfect—but the time saved on reconciliation is real.
