RigCheckr

RigCheckr is a desktop app (with optional web dashboard) that automatically validates character rigs and animation scenes before they hit dailies. It scans Maya/Blender files for common production-killers: broken constraints, non-zeroed controls, negative scales, missing references/textures, naming convention violations, cyclic dependencies, bad skin weights outliers, and performance hotspots (heavy deformers, dense meshes, slow expressions). It then generates a clear, artist-friendly report with exact node paths, suggested fixes, and a one-click “export for review” package so supervisors can reproduce issues. This is not a magical ‘make animation for you’ tool; it’s a pragmatic QA gate that reduces back-and-forth and prevents late-stage surprises. Studios can enforce show-specific rules via configurable checks, and freelancers can use presets for common pipelines. The goal is fewer broken shots, faster handoffs, and predictable scene health.
