RightsRadar

RightsRadar is a web app with a lightweight mobile companion that helps indie filmmakers and small post teams pre-clear music and third‑party footage before release. You upload a rough cut (or just the audio stems) and the app fingerprints the audio to detect likely copyrighted tracks, then produces a practical “rights risk report” with timestamps, confidence levels, and next-step options: replace with licensed alternatives, commission a soundalike, or start a clearance request. It also tracks releases, territories, term lengths, and proof-of-license files in one place so you don’t lose paperwork when festivals, distributors, or YouTube Content ID disputes happen. This is not magic: it won’t guarantee legal safety, and it won’t replace an entertainment lawyer. The value is speed and organization—catching obvious problems early and preventing the common indie failure mode of finishing a film and then discovering it can’t be monetized or distributed due to unclear rights. Monetization is subscription per project plus paid add-ons for clearance templates, distributor-ready deliverables, and optional lawyer marketplace referrals.
