RiskSignal is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps teams define, measure, and operationalize risk appetite in plain language and numbers. It guides leaders through short, structured prompts to set appetite bands (e.g., financial loss, downtime, regulatory exposure, reputational impact) and converts them into decision thresholds and escalation rules. Users can run “decision cards” for upcoming initiatives—new vendor, product launch, pricing change—and instantly see whether the proposal sits within appetite, outside it, or needs executive sign-off. It also tracks drift: when repeated exceptions become the norm, the app flags that the documented appetite is no longer real. This is not a magic oracle; it’s a disciplined workflow tool that forces explicit tradeoffs, creates an audit trail, and reduces inconsistent decision-making across departments.
