RoadCast

RoadCast is a mobile app that delivers fast, hyperlocal traffic updates as short audio and text “casts” for the exact roads you drive, not a full navigation replacement. Users set commute corridors (e.g., “I-90 to downtown” or “school run loop”), preferred times, and alert thresholds. The app pulls incidents, speed drops, closures, and weather-related hazards from public DOT feeds plus optional user reports, then summarizes what matters in plain language and pushes it before you get stuck. It also offers a lightweight “leave now vs wait” suggestion based on current congestion trends, not long-range prediction fantasies. Monetization is straightforward: freemium alerts with a paid tier for multiple corridors, advanced filters (construction-only, crash-only), and hands-free CarPlay/Android Auto audio briefings. The goal is to be the quickest way to know if today’s drive is about to go sideways.
