RoadMute is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that automatically manages your car’s infotainment audio to reduce distraction without killing usefulness. When driving is detected, it intelligently lowers or pauses non-essential audio (social video, short-form apps, noisy notifications) while preserving navigation prompts, emergency alerts, and hands-free calls. Users can set simple rules: “Mute TikTok/Instagram while moving,” “Allow podcasts but cap volume,” or “Only allow audio from approved apps.” It also offers a passenger mode toggle and a quick “I’m parked” override to avoid frustration at stoplights. The app focuses on being reliable and predictable rather than trying to be a full driving assistant. It’s not magic: it can’t control every car stereo, but it can control your phone’s audio behavior—the biggest source of distraction in most vehicles.
