RoostRadar

RoostRadar helps birders and local conservation groups locate, verify, and monitor communal roosts (starlings, swallows, crows, herons, etc.) without the chaos of scattered Facebook posts and spreadsheets. Users can pin roost locations, add time-stamped counts, attach short audio/video proof, and mark confidence levels. A lightweight AI component suggests likely roost sites by combining user reports with public land-cover and dusk/dawn timing, but it does not pretend to be perfect—verification is community-driven. The app includes privacy controls (exact coordinates hidden by default, share with trusted circles) to reduce disturbance and misuse. It’s realistic: most users won’t pay much, so the business model targets clubs, NGOs, and municipalities that need recurring monitoring reports. The MVP focuses on reliable logging and moderation rather than flashy species ID.
