RosterGuard

RosterGuard is a web app with a lightweight mobile companion that focuses on one painful gap in nursing scheduling: preventing unsafe or noncompliant assignments in real time. Instead of trying to replace the hospital’s entire scheduling suite, it ingests schedules via file export/API, maps each nurse’s competencies (unit, acuity, certs, restrictions), and runs rule checks for staffing ratios, skill mix, overtime thresholds, and rest-period compliance. When a schedule change happens—call-outs, float requests, last-minute admissions—it flags risk, suggests the least-bad swaps, and logs the rationale for audit and incident review. It also provides a “charge nurse view” for the next 24–72 hours with risk heatmaps and a simple approval workflow. This is not magic: it won’t fix chronic understaffing, but it will reduce preventable scheduling errors and documentation chaos.
