RotReady

RotReady is a mobile + web app that helps composters, municipalities, and food-service teams quickly verify whether a product is truly compostable in their local conditions. Users scan a barcode or label, and the app matches it to a database of certifications (e.g., industrial vs home compostable), material types, and known “look-alike” contaminants. It then outputs a simple disposal decision (home compost, industrial compost, recycle, trash) plus a short reason and a confidence level. For commercial sites, RotReady adds batch logging: track what went into each bin, flag high-risk items, and generate contamination reports for haulers or auditors. This is not magic: many items still require human judgment, and the app will say “unknown” when data is missing. The value is reducing costly contamination and rejected loads with faster, clearer decisions.
