RouteCanary

RouteCanary is a web + desktop companion app that continuously validates your routing control-plane against what the internet actually sees. It ingests live BGP updates from public collectors (and optionally your own routers via BMP), then runs policy checks: origin validation (RPKI), prefix/AS-path sanity, unexpected upstream announcements, and sudden path changes that correlate with outages. The core value is fast, actionable alerts with evidence: which peers, which prefixes, what changed, and suggested mitigations (filter, prepend, contact upstream, or roll back config). It also provides a “blast radius” view by mapping impacted prefixes to services/regions you define. This is not a magic fix—operators still need good filters and processes—but it shortens detection from hours to minutes and reduces finger-pointing by producing a clear incident timeline and exportable reports for postmortems and upstream tickets.
