RugFitScan is a mobile + web app that helps shoppers and small contractors buy the right rug and underlayment the first time. Users scan a room with their phone to generate accurate dimensions, area, and a cut plan (including odd angles and closets). The app then matches those measurements to real retailer SKUs (rugs, pads, stair runners), calculates true “all-in” cost (rug + pad + binding + shipping + taxes), and flags common mistakes like wrong pad thickness for doors or unsafe stair coverage. It also produces a printable installer sheet and a return-risk score based on fit tolerance and retailer policies. This is an AI + traditional app: AI helps detect room boundaries, estimate pile/texture from photos, and recommend pad types; the rest is deterministic pricing and workflow. Monetization is affiliate + pro subscriptions for installers.
