RuleTrace

RuleTrace is a web app (with an optional mobile companion) for civil service teams to manage the messy reality of policy and procedure updates across bureaus. It centralizes “what changed, why, who approved it, and who must act” into a single change record with deadlines, acknowledgements, and evidence. Instead of emailing PDFs and hoping people comply, RuleTrace creates a traceable chain from executive directive to SOP update to staff attestation. It includes structured templates for policy memos, versioning, stakeholder sign-off, and targeted distribution to affected roles. An AI assistant can summarize long directives, highlight impacted sections of existing SOPs, and draft plain-language change notes—but the system still requires human approval and audit logs. This is not glamorous software, but it reduces compliance drift, duplicated work, and audit findings that waste months.
