RuralRoster
RuralRoster is a mobile + web app that helps rural communities coordinate short-term labor and services: farm help, repairs, transport, childcare, elder check-ins, and community projects. Instead of relying on fragmented WhatsApp groups and word-of-mouth, it provides a simple “post a need / offer help” board with availability, location, and fair-rate guidance. A lightweight trust layer (local references, co-op/NGO verification, and completed-job history) reduces scams and no-shows. It also supports low-connectivity realities: offline-first posting, SMS/USSD fallbacks, and community admins who can post on behalf of people without smartphones. This is not glamorous; it’s operational plumbing for rural life. The MVP focuses on one region at a time, partnering with co-ops, extension offices, and local councils to seed both sides of the marketplace. Monetization is straightforward: small transaction fees for paid jobs and subscriptions for organizations managing recurring community work.
