SafeCheckin
SafeCheckin is a mobile + web app for people who need to prove they’re safe without broadcasting their location publicly. Users schedule check-ins (e.g., “home by 9pm”) and choose what happens if they miss them: notify trusted contacts, share last known location, and optionally trigger a welfare-check request with a local non-emergency number directory. The app supports “silent mode” workflows for coercive situations: a disguised UI, duress PIN, and prewritten messages that look normal but signal danger. It also includes a lightweight incident log (timestamps, notes, attachments) that can be exported for advocates or legal counsel. This is not magic: it won’t stop violence by itself, and false alarms will happen. The value is a reliable, private, configurable escalation path that people can actually use daily.
