SafeNameTag is a mobile + web app that lets people share their chosen name, pronouns, and simple boundaries (e.g., “don’t ask about my old name”) in a controlled, situational way. Users generate time-limited QR codes or NFC links for specific contexts—work event, doctor visit, family gathering—so they can disclose only what’s needed. The app includes “context cards” with different profiles, a quick “how to address me” script, and an optional verification note from an organization (e.g., campus LGBTQ center) to reduce pushback without forcing legal documentation. It also provides a lightweight incident log (what happened, where, who) to help users track repeated misgendering or harassment for HR/school reporting. This is not a magic fix for discrimination; it’s a practical tool to reduce repeated explanations and improve safety in everyday interactions.
